The World’s Most Dangerous Hike

Are you scared of heights? If you are, you might want to skip this adventure. The Huashan trail in China is probably the world’s most dangerous hike. Mt. Huashan is one of China’s five sacred mountains. The mountain is a holy pilgrimage site for Taoists, the followers of Taoism. The founder Lao Zi (Lao Tze) is said to have once lived there. The mountain actually consists of five different peaks, with varying degree’s of climbing difficulty. The South Peak, is the tallest at 7,087 feet (2160 meters) and also the most dangerous. Nicknamed the ‘ear rubbing trail’, as most sections require you to rub your ear against the rock wall. No one knows just how many people have died attempting this climb due to the Chinese restrictions on information. Please click here for a video on the ‘Plank Walk’ section of the hike.
