Downhill skiing also referred to as alpine skiing is the sport of sliding down a mountainside on skis and usually takes place at a ski resort. If there is no resort then skiers can take a helicopter to the top and try their hand at heli-skiing or take a snowcat up to the top for snowcat skiing. This activity can now also be done inside and is known as indoor skiing.
